Body Guard

We have a great challenge for you this week at Frosted Designs.... Metal! That's right! We would like you to use metal on your card, layout or project! I have to tell you... I had so much fun with this one!! Here is my layout.....

I started out with black cardstock that I distressed the edges of with my Tim Holtz distresser. Then I sprayed it with glimmer mist to give it a little shimmer! After that I took white acrylic paint and put random circles on the page. While the paint was still wet, I sprayed it with water so that the paint would drip. I love that look!

I used Body Guard for the title because when Lauren had her last party, it was a Rock Star theme. We had my son dress as a body guard and check the guest off the official list as they came in! The girls loved it! I cut the title out using my Cricut and pop dotted part of it. I added the Tim Holtz film strip and loved the way it looked!! A few stars polished off the look!

This was the best part!! I took a piece of aluminum foil, cut it to the size I needed and then ran it through my Cuttlebug. Then I used alcohol inks to add some color to it and finished it off with some black ink. I loved the way some of the thinner parts tore away... perfect for the look I was going for! The metal wire and clips were left over from some curtains that I had hung in my teenage daughter's room a few years back. The wire is being held on by a tab from a soda can and a giant brad!

I hope you have time to take on this challenge this week and join us! You could win the Cricut Campin' Critters Cartidge for playing along! Head on over to Frosted Designs to see what my design team sisters made for this challenge!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous weekend!

You are AMAZING, Barb! I love all of the elements that you used on this layout. Also, thanks for sharing the tips and tricks that you used...I'll definitely be trying out the technique where you sprayed water on the acrylic painted circles to make them "drip"! Great idea and effect!

Also, what a super fun party theme! Your kiddos look adorable - I'm sure all of their friends had a fantastic time at the "Rock Star" party!
