Quick Quotes - Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! For those of you who celebrate, I have created some fun eye candy for you using Quick Quotes products along with Helmar's adhesives! What a great combination! With our blog hop this week, there are so many amazing projects from the Quick Quotes Deisgn team, you are not going to want to miss any of them! Besides, you need to visit all of them to be eligible to win a prize! You can click HERE to get started!

Look at all the things I was able to create! I absolutely adore Quick Quotes Halloween Paper line! Not only are the patterns fun and bright, but they also have all of these cute sayings that work so well on projects as well as layouts!

This Boo sign was very easy to create. Let me show you how....

I started with chipboard letters. (I picked mine up from Hobby Lobby.) I used the Helmar V2 spray adhesive. I realize this is meant to be used with vellum, but it worked great for this project! I sprayed each letter with adhesive and laid the patterned paper over the top.

I cut the excess paper off.

The next step is to sand the edges with a file. It leaves a perfect edge!

Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalking Ink in Midnight Confessions was perfect for inking up the edges of each letter!

Finally, I thought these cute little accordion flowers made a great embellishment! They added both color and dimension to the sign! I couldn't resist adding a cute little spider gem sticker in the middle of the orange flower! I used Helmar's 450 Quick Dry Adhesive to adhere them to the letter.

This was my 2 minute project that I adore! (Seriously... 2 minutes!) I took an empty wine bottle (I loved the green color of it!) and added a label. I cut out a square in white and then used my Spellbinder labels to cut the striped paper and the Blood Donors label. I just layered them and added them to the bottle. Helmar's Vellum Adhesive worked well for this project too!) So simple but it really adds to our Halloween home decor!

I had this plain paper mache coffin with my Halloween decorations. I decided to bring some life to the coffin by adding some striped papers to the side and decorating the top! I also cut up some of the fun Halloween riddles that are part of the Halloween 500 sheet and scattered them among the eyeballs. The kids have loved reading them to each other!

The "Candy is Dandy" is part of Quick Quotes vellum collection... how perfect is that for a candy dish?! Again, the Helmar V2 spray adhesive worked perfectly! I added a few layers of patterned paper and some trim and it was complete!

I just love these cute little mummy bottles in their darling carrier! They really add a lot of personality to the parties! This project is so easy to do... let me show you how!

I started with the empty Izze carrier. I used PowderPuff Chalking Ink in Midnight Confessions to ink around all the edges/corners.

I then traced the edges of the box on patterned paper, cut it out and inked all the edges.

For this project I used Helmars Quick Dry 450. I was so impressed at how well it held the paper to the slippery surface of the carrier! I then added a quote and some trim and my carrier was done!

How can you not love those eyes?!  lol!! The bottles are the easiest part. Adhere the eyes to the bottle and then use strips of cheesecloth which are wrapped around the bottle.

If you are celebrating Halloween tonight, I hope you and your family have a fun and safe time!

Quick Quotes - Live in the Moment

Happy Friday! That means that we have a new challenge at Frosted Designs! This week we want you to get a little messy! We would like to see you use inks, mists, and/or paints on your cards, layouts and off the page projects!

Now that I live in Arizona, I am really missing the changing colors of the leaves that we saw when I lived in the midwest. (I must also confess, I really don't miss raking these leaves!) I came across these photos of my daughter and her friend who were raking leaves for an elderly neighbor who was excited to get a little extra help! For the most part, the girls did a great job, but at one point, they got a little distracted from the task on hand and the leaf fight started!

I thought the vellum quote "Live in the Moment" was the perfect title for these photos and it matched perfectly with the papers I used. For this layout I used Cherry Truffle with a little Cracklin' Rose thrown in! The two lines go so well together.... I love it!

The chipboard leaf is from the Bag O' Chips - Fall Leaves. I wanted to give the leaf a little texture so I embossed it with gold powder. I then covered the gold with PowderPuff Chalking Ink in Lemonade and finished it off with a little Mocha Mama and Mango Mai Tai around the edges.

The banner was made from some twill trim I had laying around my studio. I used PowderPuff Chalking Ink in Lemonade to color them and then misted them with Creative Memories Shimmer Mist. I added some trim, brads and pen detail to finish them off.

I used this month's Quick Quote sketch for my inspiration... I love Karan's sketches! We would love to see how you use this sketch!

Holiday layouts!

Hello! I was pretty excited yesterday when I realized that not only did I have my all of my DT projects done, but I had worked ahead and had some free time to do some layouts just for fun! I think this is the first time since I started my move last April! Between, staging the house, selling the house, spending the summer in California and finally settling into a new house, there hasn't been a lot of extra time! I was actually able to get 2 layouts done! Check them out....

I started with this Halloween layout of my daughter from last year. I had some of these fun Halloween papers from BoBunny laying around and they were perfect for my witchy photos! The layout was based off this sketch...

I love Karan's sketches! She is so talented! Instead of using the circles behind the photos, I decided to make a giant spider web!

I found this cute little die cut spider in my supplies but thought he needed a little something so I added some big googly eyes!

This title cracked me up! If the broom fits....  We will have to see if my daughter finds it funny! I loved the striped paper that I used for the banner and added various colors of ribbon to finish it off!

Here is some of the stitching detail... so easy to do!

And then.... I had time for a second layout!!

Last Christmas my mom bought my daughter and niece jammies for the girls and their American Girl dolls! For this layout, I used some Echo Park Papers and Ashley's sketch at Club CK....

I added an extra photo to my layout and used a Christmas tree instead of the circle. Thank you Ashley for the wonderful inspiration!

I loved these tags! I added some ribbon and brads to dress then up a bit!

The ticket sticker was perfect for adding the year.

A close up of the title and layering.

I loved this tree from the Echo Park Christmas Pack. I added some SEI dimensional stickers and a cute little snowflake for the tree topper!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look! Have a great week!

Frosted Designs - Musicbox Dancer

Happy Friday! I hope all of you have had a great week... I know I did! I am just wrapping a family vacation at Disney World! It is the first time in 4 1/2 years that I have had all 4 of my kids with me on vacation! It was a great week!

We have a new challenge for you at Frosted Designs. This week we are asking you to use a Sports or Dance theme on your card, layout or off the page project! Here is a layout I did of my darling little Lauren when she was only 5 years old doing her ballet routine on stage all by herself!! I was nervous for her but she went out and performed like a pro!

Isn't she too cute in her little tutu?! The papers are a mix of Basic Grey, Pink Paislee and Glitz.

Her routine was called Musicbox Dancer so I used it for the title. I surrounded it by a few flowers and leaves.

Thank you for coming by today! I hope you can take on this week's challenge and link up for a chance to win a great prize!

Quick Quotes - Life is a Journey Mini Album

Hi there! It's Barb and I am back to host the Quick Quotes Blog today! I was lucky enough to receive the October Club Q kit to work with this month and let me tell you.... it is amazing! The mini album that comes in the kit is fabulous! It could be used for so many themes. I chose to make my mini about my husband and I. We have been so fortunate to do a lot of traveling. I thought it would be fun to put  a lot of those photos in one place.

The chipboard gate is from Bag O' Chips - Garden. I inked it with PowderPuff Chalking Ink in Mocha Mama, misted it with a glimmer mist and then embossed it with clear embossing powder. This month's kit comes with several die cut flowers. I used those flowers and leaves for the cover.

The vellum quote I used on this page is from the Sentiments Itty Bitty Box of Vellum Quotes. I used my Spellbinder to cut the shapes and layer them.

I had these picture from Cabo that were a little (okay a lot) more casual so I added a burlap strip and then burlap leaves. I also added some tags that I could journal on because there is a really funny story that I want to be able to tell with these photos.

I added some stitching to the banners on each page to help give them a little dimension. I then tucked a tag under each photo and used letter stickers to state where each photo was taken.

The vellum quote on this page was torn, inked and then mounted on a piece of ribbon. I used a strip of paper that I inked with brads to hold the vellum on the ribbon.

There is so much more I could make with the supplies I still have left from this kit! If you have been thinking about joining Club Q, this is definitely the month to join!

Quick Quote Supplies Used:
PowderPuff Chalking Ink: Mocha Mama, Biscotti, Tahiti, Amaretto

Other Supplies Used:
Flowers
Ribbon
Burlap
Brads
Doily

Frosted Designs - Wild Ride

Happy Friday! I have to confess, I had a blast doing this layout for the new Frosted Designs Challenge! This week we are asking you to use the theme WILD on your cards, layouts and off the page projects! I originally planned on using some zoo photos that I really need to get scrapped but when I ran across these photos of my daughter on a ride at Santa Monica Pier, I couldn't resist... they were perfect for a wild theme! I think that is the best thing about this challenge.... it can be interpreted in so many ways!

Normally when I do a layout, I am very careful, plan it out perfectly and then try to glue the pieces down in their proper place. I think that is why this LO was so much fun.... I just went for it! I started by doing a whitewash background for the photos but that wasn't messy enough. That is when I just started splashing white paint on the background! I then took scraps and pieces and started glueing them down!

For the title, I went to my stash of letter stickers and pulled out several fonts/colors. I looked to see which ones still had the letters in them to make the words I needed and added them to the layout!

I love these large red letters from Pink Paislee! They are perfect for this wild layout!!

We would love to see what is Wild in your life! Be sure to link up your project for a chance to win a fabulous prize! Have a great weekend!

Quick Quotes - How Wonderful Life is...

Happy Saturday everyone! It's Barb and I am back with a layout I created using the Quick Quotes Just Because line. This line is amazing! I have used it for several different themes because the patterns and colors work well for so many things!

I am found this photo of my daughter from her graduation in 2008. I was pretty excited when I realized how perfectly the colors from the Just Because line went with the photo! The best part about this layout? I used the scraps of paper left over from another layout! Don't you love it when you can use up some scraps?! I distressed the edges of some of the papers and inked the rest of the edges with PowderPuff Chalking ink in Mocha Mama.

The chipboard flowers and circles are from the Quick Quotes Bag 'O Chips - Stackable Flowers. I colored each flower and circle with PowderPuff Chalking Ink in Mango Mai Tai and Blue Hawaiian. I then inked the edges in Mocha Mama. The title was cut from a sheet of Just Because that has a variety of titles/journal tags to choose from.

It was easy making the banner from scraps I had left over. I loved the way the brown and green looked together and I thought the pink butterfly gave it just the right pop of color!

Enjoy your weekend and take some time to get creative!

Frosted Designs - Hello? Hi.

Happy Friday everyone! We have a new challenge for you at Frosted Designs with a prize you are going to want to win!! This week we are asking you to use doilies on your cards, layouts and off the page projects.... super easy! Here are the cards I made....

Since Graphic 45 is this week's sponsor, I thought I would use their Communique Line to make my cards. I do not make cards often but the G45 papers made it really easy!

For this card, I took a doily, cut the pretty edge off it and then folded and glued it in a circle to make this flower. I finished it off by adding a brad to the center and misting it with Shimmer Mist.

A close-up of the flower so you can see how I layered and folded the doily.

For my second card, I used a doily for the background. I also misted this doily with Shimmer Mist.

Now it is your turn! Make a card, layout or off the page project that uses a doily and you can be entered to win a prize pack from Graphic 45! They have generously donated 2 12x12 paper pads and an 8x8 paper pad! It's a great prize so be sure to link up your project for a chance to win!
