Quick Quotes - Hey! Call Me!

Hi! It's Barb and I am hosting the blog today! Wow! Where has the year gone? Or, where have the years gone?! I have recently been working my way through a pile of photos that should have been scrapbooked years ago! (Hey, better late than never, right?!)

Quick Quotes Happiness lines is one of my favorites! The bright colors are so much fun to work with and were perfect for these photos of my daughter with her cousin. They both received play cell phones for Christmas (way back in 2003!) and they were having a great time "calling" one another! The photo with my daughter reaching toward her cousin caught my eye because I could just picture what she was saying to him….. Hey! Call Me!

I cut apart the color blocks on one of the patterned papers and turned them into a layered banner. I added some detailing with a black pen.

I couldn't find the color of letters that I needed but could easily alter these white letters (me) using the PowderPuff Chalking Ink in Bloody Mary. They are showing up a little darker in the photo than they are in real life. The color matched the papers perfectly!

Quick Quotes - The Magic of Christmas

Hello everyone! I get to share a few projects that I made with the December Club Q kit. I have to tell you, I am lovin' the colors!!! It was fun to make some Christmas layouts with some non-traditional Christmas colors! I also love that everything I need to make these projects come in the kit. I don't have to go searching for other supplies! The only thing I grabbed was my PowderPuff Chalking Ink!

This layout is of my sweet daughter back in 2003. I loved the look of the lace trim… I thought it was perfect with her angelic outfit she is wearing! (By the way, the other photos I have from this photo shoot are of her pulling the ornaments off the tree! Not so angelic!!)

The mat for the photo along with the flap in front were taken from the layout kit where they laced the two photo mats together side by side. I decided to use a decorative punch on the one side and use ribbon to attach them together for the flap. The vellum quote is from the kit as well.

I am not a big fan of my handwriting so I like to hide my journaling. I think it is important to include the stories that go with the photos, I just don't necessarily want that to be the focus of my layouts. I used the flap as a way of concealing my journaling.

These darling little stickers are also included in the kit. I used some PowderPuff chalking ink in Java around the edges and then used foam adhesive to lift them off the page.

I also made a few Christmas cards!

These were super quick and easy to make and are some of my favorite cards I made this year! The middle part of the cards were actually for a wall hanging that came in the kit. I thought it was perfect for Christmas cards!

I am always amazed at how many products come in the Club Q kits! They are packed with beautiful papers and embellishments and they even include instructions! They make creating beautiful things very easy!

Frosted Designs - Christmas 2003

Happy Friday everyone! I can not believe that we are just a few weeks away from Christmas! And what I find even more difficult to believe it that my darling children in this Christmas photo are now 24, 22, 21 and 11! Wow! Where does the time go?!

This week at Frosted Designs, Brenda is challenging us to use Silver AND Gold on a project. It did not have to be a Christmas project but the Frosted Designs Season of Stars Scrapbooking Kit made it so easy!! Plenty of Silver and Gold here!  :)

I had fun getting a little messy with this one! At one point my desk was covered with molding paste, paint, spray mists, gelatos, and inks! Talk about fun!! The papers in the Season of Stars scrapbooking kit layer together so well... made my job easy! And I LOVE the mesh/web ribbon in this kit. One side is white and the other is gold! And of course it has plenty of sparkle! I painted the Studio Calico Starbursts with white paint before going over them with the Silver Metallic Gelatos. I added a gem to the center for a little more bling!

I love the Teresa Collins Chipboard Stickers that are part of the Merry Christmas Add on kit. They were perfect for this layout. And how do you like those sparkly gold numbers?! Gotta love some bling!

The Season of Stars Scrapbooking Kit is now available in the Frosted Designs Store.
You can find it HERE! The Add-On for $10 is a steal!

I used a Sketchabilities sketch for this one... Number 104!

We would love to see you play along with our challenge this week! You could be the lucky winner of the Quick Quotes $20 Gift Certificate!

Be sure to stop by the blog to see the other Designers projects!
Have a great weekend!

Quick Quotes - Christmas Gift Set

Hello everyone! It's Barb and I am sharing an idea for a quick and easy Christmas Gift!

This gift is perfect for teachers, co-workers, neighbors, and any other "hard to buy for" person on your list!

I started with an empty pancake mix canister that I covered with a piece of Cherry Truffle Patterned Paper. The die cut paper (also from the Cherry Truffle line) was embossed with sparkly embossing powder and the center of the circle was cut from the Back to Basics line. I added a few embellishments to decorate it, added some tissue paper and finished it off with those yummy chocolate covered pretzels!
The chipboard word was colored with PowderPuff Chalking Ink in Java.

The background paper on the card is from the Cherry Truffle line, too. I kept this one pretty simple with a Merry Christmas journal card, ribbon, flower and a flourish. I liked the berries I used for the center of the flower!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Frosted Designs - Christmas Magic

Hello Everyone! I am so excited to share two of the layouts I created with the
Season of Stars Scrapbooking Kit!

This kit is filled with fun little embellishments and a beautiful mix of papers!

All of the Patterned Papers in this kit are double-sided which means you have double the possibilities! The paper I used for the background on this layout is the back of the BoBunny Ornament Paper. The Santa with his reindeer were the perfect background for this photo of my daughter from 2003. (Where does the time go?!)

I love the gold/white mesh ribbon that is included in this kit! It is reversible (gold on one side, white on the other) and it adds texture without a lot of bulk. And did I mention that it is sparkly?!  :)

I used the Studio Calico Wood Veneer Starbursts to give the effect of "magic" floating down from Santa's sleigh!

I love the mix of papers in this kit! The chipboard 25 circle and the journal spot behind it are part of the add-on kit that is available when you purchase the Season of Stars Scrapbooking kit.

I covered the starbursts with some metallic gold rub and then added a red jewel to the center of each one. It added just the right amount of sparkle!

After making a "pretty" layout, I decided I wanted to make a "fun" layout! Which was easy enough to do with this mix of Teresa Collins and Carta Bella Papers! (The doily is a left over from the November Family Blessings Kit!)

The title is from the Maya Road Chipboard Words that are part of the Merry Christmas add-on. I painted them white and added some detailing with a black pen. I also added the clear die-cut embellishment from Little Yellow Bicycle.

I had some fun with my Dylusions Dirty Martini Spray Ink on this layout! I liked the splashes of color peeking out from behind my photo clusters.

And one more close up of the layout! I adore that red & white trim that comes in this kit!

The Season of Stars Kit is now available in the Frosted Designs Store!
