Maui Mini Album!

Hello! It's Barb and I am back with one of my all time favorite Quick Quotes lines that happens to be part of the August Club Q kit... Summer Breeze! The supplies in the August Club Q kits are fabulous and if you follow the directions that are sent to you with the supplies, you will make some beautiful projects! However, I wanted to see what I could make if I didn't follow the directions and this mini album was the result!

The patterned paper die cut was included in the kit and was meant to be used with the canvas. I cut the die cut down to fit my 6 in. x 7 in. mini album and inked the edges with PowderPuff Chalking Ink in Tahiti. I used the same ink to color the chipboard flourish and then went around the edges with PowderPuff Chalking Ink in Baja Blue.

 I used foam dots to adhere the chipboard flourish to the cover and to add some dimension.

I wanted to make sure I had some space between my pages so that when the mini was closed, it could lay flat. To achieve that, I added pony beads that were the same color as the cardstock between the pages. The white die cut frames on this page are from the June Club Q kit but the sand dollars and flip flop die cut were right out of the August kit!

How cute is this little flip flop die cut?! It comes in the kit, too. All I did was add a little ribbon, flowers and gems! Darling!

The Summer Breeze papers are perfect for vacation at the beach pictures!

The kit includes block style stencils that spell out the word FUN. I liked the look of the letters but needed them in a different color. To solve my problem, I used them as a stencil on these tags! I love the way they turned out! I used Tahiti PowderPuff Chalking Ink and then outlined them with a black pen.

And here is the final page in the album! Did I mention how much I love the Summer Breeze line?!

The flowers on this page were fussy cut from the patterned paper, inked and pop dotted. I think they are the perfect embellishment for my mini album!

A Santa Fe Tradition

Hi there! It's Barb and I am back to share another layout I created with one of Quick Quotes newest paper lines... Just Because! I love everything about this line! The colors are gorgeous and the patterns are so easy to work with! Love, love, love it!!

We recently visited Santa Fe and of course, we had to take a few photos while we were there! All of the photos had a lot of browns and blues in them and the Just Because line had the perfect papers for creating this scrapbook layout!

Quick Quotes makes scrapbooking so easy! With the double sided papers, all I had to do was cut out a few strips and layer them! Everything coordinated perfectly!

All I added to the patterned papers was some Mocha Mama PowderPuff Chalking Ink along the edges! A perfect match!

Magic Happens...

I have had so much fun working with the new Summer Breeze line! The patterned papers are so easy to layer and I love the colors! Today I created another layout of my daughter that highlights the big dreams she has.

The colors in this line of papers are perfect for my daughter's colorful personality!

For the title of my layout, I took one of the Itty Bitty Vellum Quotes  (Sentiments) and attached it to a tag. By adding a little ribbon, I was able to hide the adhesive. I inked the edges of the tag and vellum.

Canvas Prints!

I know everyone who stops by my blog, loves photos and great way to display them. I was recently contacted by Easy Canvas Prints and asked to try their products.... I have to say, I LOVE THEM! I took this photo of my husband and I....

...and turned it into an 11x14 canvas! The photo looks amazing on the canvas and once I framed it, it became the perfect decoration for my husband's office!  :)   (BTW, they will frame it for you if you like!)

Brothers and Sisters!

The new Summer Breeze line is so fun to work with! For today's project, I created a fun canvas to decorate my studio! I'm sure it is no surprise to parents that siblings can have a love/hate relationship sometimes! I decided to create a canvas that celebrates the relationship between my 10 year old daughter and 19 year old son!

This is a flat 9 in. x 12 in. canvas.  I used the PowderPuff Chalking Inks in Tahiti and Very Berry to color the background of the canvas.

 The Vellum Quote (Siblings Share) perfectly says what I wanted to say about their relationship!

I decided to divide the right side of the canvas into 9 equal squares (2.5 in.x 2.5 in.). I added photos to some of them and decorated the others.

I added some beads and wire to my banner for a fun, quick decoration.

The PowderPuff Chalking Inks come in coorinating colors! I used them to make this flower!

All of the coordinating papers work so well together and add to the cheerful tone! Everytime I look at this canvas, it makes me smile! Matt and Lauren will always have a special relationship!

My Precious Girl!

Hi! It's Barb and I am back to share a new layout with you! I have to tell you, I was one excited girl when the new Summer Breeze line arrived on my doorstep! The colors and patterns are amazing! So bright and cheerful! And of course they were perfect for a layout of my daughter! I couldn't wait to get started! Here is the layout I created using the new Summer Breeze line...

I love that this line includes solid colored cardstock that coordinates perfectly. It makes layering so easy!

 And of course, the PowderPuff Chalking Inks are the perfect accent for these papers! I used Tahiti, Very Berry, Blue Moon and Purple Passion on this layout and to make these coordinating flowers! 

The vellum quote is from the Sentiments Itty Bitty Box. I love this box of quotes.... they are perfect for any occassion, cards and layouts!

It's all about the circles!

Happy Friday everyone! I am in a really good mood this week... I have finally moved to Arizona!! We sold our house in Dallas and made the move. There are pros and cons to this....

Con: I am living in temp. housing until we buy a house.
Pro: I have all kinds of time to create and have fun!
Con: I only brought limited supplies with me due to space. (The rest is in storage)
Pro: It means I need to do a little shopping!!
Con: The 100+ temperatures
Pro: All the more reason to go to the pool!!

Alright... I could go on with that all day but instead, I would like to share this week's challenge at Frosted Designs!! We would love to see circles! Yep... it really is that easy! Use circles on your cards, layouts and off the page projects and they can be entered into this week's challenge! Here is my circle LO....

Since we just arrived Monday night, I have not found a place to get my photos printed yet but that is okay! It just means I need to get busy with some that have been laying around way too long!! These are photos from Easter last year! Better late than never, right?!! I think this page turned out darling, but that is just my opinion!! lol!!

Sibling Love!

Hi! It's Barb again and this time I am sharing a layout I created using the Quick Quotes June Club Q kit!

I have 4 kids but only 2 of them are still at home. Even though Matt and Lauren are 9 years apart in age, they have a serious love/hate relationship! And these photos show that!

One of the things I loved about this kit, other than the bright, fun colors, were all of the die cut goodies that came with it, starting with the cute white frames!

All of the layering in this shot shows some of the diecuts included in the kit... flowers, scalloped frames, yellow tags. I outlined a lot of the pieces to make them stand out a bit more on the layout.

And of course a Quick Quotes kit would not be complete without some of their fabulous vellum quotes! This quote was longer than what I thought would work in this space so I cut it into two pieces and matted each on white cardstock.

A Welcome Home Gift

Hi! It's Barb and I am here to share another project I made using the Quick Quotes June Club Q kit. The original kit includes the supplies you need to make a house shaped mini album. I decided to take those supplies to make a gift. Yesterday, we moved out of our house and handed over the keys to the new owners. I know they are moving here (Texas) from Georgia so wanted to help make them feel at home a little quicker. I made this gift set for them....

Inside the gift bag was a treat from one of my favorite places... Nothing Bundt Cake! Yummy! And then I took what would have been one of the pages in the mini and made it into a cute holder for the tags.

The house on the front of the bag was the front cover of the mini album. I cut down the sides so that it would fit the bag and embellished it with the die cuts that came in the kit.

I cut out a vellum quote that was in the kit, adhered it to cardstock and then added some foam adhesive to give it a little dimension.

I also used foam adhesive to adhere the fence to the front of the house.

The pouch was created using a page from the mini album. I added the vellum quote to the front. It was the perfect thing to hold the tags I created. I love that is was quick and simple to create but looks like it took a lot of effort! Those are my kind of projects!

The first tag is a welcome tag. There is a pouch behind the scalloped edge that I put a note in. I included contact info for me and my husband in case we would have package/mail that we would need to get forwarded to us. (Last time we moved, we had a lot of mail left at the old house even though I had filled out the forward address thing with the post office. I am not taking any chances this time!)

This tag was made to give them information about people that we had used for the house. There is a pocket so that I could add the business cards of everyone who had worked on the house... the landscapers, pool company, window cleaners, etc.

This last tag was to help them find some of our favorite places to eat. I remember when we first moved to Texas from Indiana, we had no idea where the best places were to eat so I wanted to include this for the new owners. There is a pocket on the tag so we could tuck in the names and addresses of our favorite restraunts!

The June Club Q kit made this project so easy to make!

Owl Be Seeing You!

Hello! It's Barb here and I can't wait to share my project with you today! This month I was lucky enough to work with the Quick Quotes June Club Q kit and it is packed with Summer Samba goodness! Let me start by sharing my project and then I will talk about my thought process...

This darling little owl was so much fun to make! The papers in the June Club Q kit were perfect for this little creature!

It all started with these two pleated flowers. I was actually putting them together for a layout I was working on but when I looked at them, I thought they looked like two big eyes instead of flowers and instantly, I thought of an owl! With a few cuts using my Cricut, I was able to put this all together.

I cut two circles from white paper to make the centers of the eyes. The orange buttons came in the kit already, all I had to do was add the gems to finish them off!

For the belly of my owl, I used my Cricut to cut out raindrop shapes. I then used a black marker to outline the edges, inked them with PowderPuff Chalking Ink in Blue Hawaiian and layered them starting at the bottom. For the top row, I cut off the tops of the raindrop shapes so I could have a nice straight line at the neck. I also cut the wings from vellum, inked them with PowderPuff Chalking Ink in Maraschino Cherry and then ran it through my Cuttlebug.

The leaves were created by cutting green cardstock and vellum at the same size/shape. I then covered the vellum with PowderPuff Chalking Ink in Green with Envy. I used a spray adhesive to get the vellum to stick to the cardstock.

To make the canvas to put my owl on, I took PowderPuff Chalking Ink in Lemonade and covered the entire surface and sides.

I then created stripes with removable tape. I colored over the stripes with PowderPuff Chalking Ink in Biscotti.

Once I removed the tape, I had the background I wanted.

Stinky Fish!

I have a daughter who is always taking silly pictures and I have to admit.... they are so much more fun to use in my scrapbooking layouts! Normally, when I use the One Fine Day paper line, I am making sweet, pretty pages but today, I wanted to try to grunge them up a bit! Here is what I created....

After adding a few paint splatters, some messy stitching and a lot of PowderPuff Chalking Ink, I was able to create the look I was going for!

The chipboard flower and circle are from the Quick Quotes Bag O'Chips Stackable Flowers. I used the PowderPuff Chalking Ink in Baja Blue to color the petals of the flower and Mango Mai Tai to ink the chipboard circle and patterned paper.

I took the lid off the water bottle I had sitting at my desk and added PowderPuff Chalking Ink in Mocha Mama to create the circles on my layout.

And of course, I used the PowderPuff Chalking Inks to add some color to the ordinary, white office tags.

I used Mango Mai Tai to ink the edges of the tag and added a little Biscotti PowderPuff Chalking Ink to the center. I wanted to "soften" the look of the ink so I used a little trick I know.

I misted the tag with water and used my finger to blend the water around the tag.

After the tag dried, the ink appeared to have a softer, more blended look.

Laughter of a Child...

Oopsy Daisy! I guess I have a little too much going on here to keep up with my posting!! Please forgive me! I would love to share our new challenge with you at Frosted Designs! We would love to see how you can incorporate quilting into your crafty projects! This challenge is open to so many possiblities! Here is what I created....

This LO is of my beautiful little girl when she had a sweet toothless grin! We had taken her to the American Girl store in Chicago where she picked out her twins... Zoe and Chloe! And of course, she had to get the matching dress!! 

Almost all of the products used on this layout are Quick Quotes products. I LOVE this quote! QQ always has a quote when I can't come up with the words myself! I inked the edges to make is stand out a bit more!

And yes... I was crazy enough to cut out, ink and adhere each of the pieces that make up the background!! It was a lot of work but soooo worth it! I love the way it turned out!!
