Craftwork Cards CANDi - Eleven!

Good Monday morning to you! I have a fun layout celebrating my daughter's 11th birthday to share with you!

These fun Echo Park papers were perfect for my daughter's party photos! The theme was candy! Yum!!

I added a few Basic Grey Chipboard embellishments along with some My Mind's Eye die cuts!

I love that CANDi adds a fun splash of color with dimension to my layouts! Here I used one up in the corner.

I lined some CANDi up to help create a border and even used one for the center of my flower!

Here is the CANDi used on this layout...
Gingham Strata

Polka Dots Citrus Burst

Polka Dots Raspberry Truffle

I hope you have a wonderful week and find some time to create something crafty!

Quick Quotes Be Bold Mini Album

Quick Quotes has released some fabulous new products and one of my favorites are these wonderful mini albums! Some of the collections have the mini albums that match directly with the line and Be Bold is one of them!

The cover is already so beautiful! All I did was add a little ribbon.

Quick Quotes mini albums have these beautiful pages inside. The paper coordinates with the Be Bold line and since they already look amazing, I really didn't have to do much decorating myself!

The Sentiment and Journal spot were both cut from the Be Bold 6x6 Paper Stack. These were the perfect embellishment to many of my pages!

I wanted you to see the page before I added my photos. It's bright and colorful! Perfect for vacation photos.

And here is the page after the photos and a few embellishments!

The Be Bold Stickers also work great in the album!

The darling little banner was cut from the paper in the 6x6 paper stack. The smaller print worked great for the small embellishment.

I used foam adhesive behind the "Paradise Found" card. It added some dimension to the layering of the elements.

I loved the surfboard embellishments on the sentiment cards.

The surfboards were fussy cut from 12x12 Be Bold. I tucked them into my "waves" to add to the surfer feel of the page. The edges of the waves were inked with Tahiti PowderPuff Chalking Ink.

My daughter celebrated her birthday while we were in Maui. I love that this line worked perfectly for my surfer dude and for a sweet birthday celebration for my baby girl.

I layered a banner made from a sheet of the 6x6 paper stack along with ribbon.  I added some baker's twine and a few flowers to finish it off.

I had so much fun creating this album, it inspired me to create a video, too! This video highlights all the great features of this mini album!

Quick Quotes - Coffee Filter Flower Tutorial

Do you ever have one of those moments when you are using an everyday item and you realize that you could turn it into a great scrapbooking/card embellishment?! Well, I did! The other day, while making coffee, I decided that the coffee filter was the perfect material for a flower! I am going to show you how you can make your own flowers using coffee filters and Quick Quotes PowderPuff Chalking Ink!

I absolutely adore the Stowaway collection! The blues and browns are gorgeous and is perfect for so many types of photos! This time I used it for some photos of my parents with my kids in Sedona.

To make these flowers, I used coffee filters with PowderPuff Chalking Ink in Tahiti and Biscotti.  The chipboard flourish was colored using Baja Blue PowderPuff Chalking Ink and then I misted it with shimmering mist. Behind the flower cluster is a sheet of patterned paper from the Stowaway 6x6 Paper stack. The print is a smaller scale than then 12x12 size and worked great on this layout.

The Cherish These Moments  and Memories tag was cut from the 6x6 Stowaway paper stack, too. I love that these collections include quotes and journaling tags. They are perfect for layouts and cards!

These darling little words were cut from the Stowaway Stickers and inked up with PowderPuff Chalking Ink in Biscotti.

The chipboard "Family" die cut is from an older Quick Quotes kit. I colored it first with the new Java PowderPuff chalking ink and then went around the edges of it with the new Dusty Rose PowderPuff Chalking Ink. I love how it gave it a nice, soft outline.

And... if you were wanting to see how I made the coffee filters flower, you are going to need to watch this video! Enjoy!

Frosted Designs - Doily + Sketch Challenge

Guess what!!! It's Friday!! Don't you love the sound of that?! And we all know what that means.... Frosted Designs has a new challenge for you! This week is a 2 parter!

1. You need to use doilies and
2. You need to use the sketch that our very own Design Team Member Brenshevia designed!

 Here is the sketch....

And here is my layout....

Now, I know what you may be saying to yourself... is this really the sketch? And where did the doilies go?!  Well... both are there!! I promise! I think the best part of a sketch is that you can make it your own and I have to say, even though I deviated from the sketch a bit, this is one of my favorite layouts!

I layered some My Mind's Eye die cuts with some Basic Grey chipboard.  Under all that, is the doily I created. I started out by painting white paint on the background. I then laid two doilies on the background paper where I wanted them and used them as a mask. I misted them with some pink Shimmer Mist. They didn't show up quite the way I wanted so I decided to use a white paint pen to color the doily shape in and then outlined it with a black Copic pen. I LOVE the way they turned out! They were a lot of work, but totally worth it!  :)

This film strip chipboard was perfect for the photos from last year's Hollywood Showcase. Lauren's acting school in Dallas puts it on each year. Lauren will not get to participate this year since we moved to Phoenix but she is going back to support all of her friends next weekend. She is soooo excited to see all of them!

And here is a close up of the doily in the top corner. I used a date sticker from Echo Park to help document the year!

And would you like to know the best part about this collection? All of the coordinating embellishments! Check out this layout....

The surfboard patterned paper was perfect for scrapbooking my son's surfing adventures in Maui! I used Kiwi Lane's Paisley Place Mini Templates 1A & 1B to create the "waves" under the photos. I used the brand new Coal Miner PowderPuff Chalking Ink around the edges of all the patterned papers.

I used the 6x6 Be Bold paper pads to cut out the journal spot and poem.

This chipboard sticker is found in the Be Bold Chipboard Stickers collection. I inked the edges with the new Coconut PowderPuff Chalking Ink.

The surfboards were fussy cut from a sheet of patterned paper and then I used the new PowderPuff Chalking in in Red Hot to ink the edges of the surfboards.

I also have a video to share with you that showcases the products I used on this layout.
