Quick Quotes - Happy Hauntings!

Hello! Time to break out some Halloween papers! I don't know about all of you, but I am usually about a year behind with my holiday scrapbooking. Let's take Halloween for example... by the time the kids have their parties, we go trick-or-treating and I get photos printed, I have already moved past the Halloween papers and have moved on to Thanksgiving and Christmas layouts. That was the case with this photo! My daughter had a Halloween party at our house last year and I was able to snap this darling photo (not an easy task with this rambunctious group!) When Quick Quotes released this Halloween paper line, I couldn't wait to get busy! Here is my layout....

I used the Quick Quotes September inspiration sketch for this layout!

Along with the new line of papers, Quick Quotes has some great new vellum quotes! I loved this bright green quote! I inked the edges with PowderPuff Chalking Ink in Midnight Confessions and then folded the top and bottom around the black background paper. I used tape to hold it in place from behind.

Quick Quotes has also added this die cut spider web! I LOVE it!! It is a nice embellishment that really adds to the layout.

Whether you will be scrapbooking this year's photos, last year's photos or photos from 10 years ago, you really do need to check out these Halloween Papers!

More than Cousins...

Happy Friday everyone! I am pretty excited about this weekend for a couple of reasons! #1 - I am on my way to the Quick Quotes Private Reserve in Palm Springs for the weekend! I am so excited to have some time away doing nothing but scrappin'! I think it has been about 5 years since I have done this so I think it is about time! And #2 - We have a new challenge for you at Frosted Designs! This week we are challenging you to use triangles on your cards, layouts and projects! How easy is that?! I decided to take a unique spin on this challenge and I create this.....

By making long, skinny triangles, I was able to create the starburst effect on this layout! I LOVE how this turned out! It is so bright and cheery!!

We would love to see you participate in our challenge this week! Stop by Frosted Designs to see what our amazing Design Team created! You will be glad you did!  :)

Have a great weekend!

Giving Back

I absolutely love the new Cracklin' Rose line of papers! You have already seen some amazing projects using this line the past few days and I am thrilled to share my layout with you today! I had a photo I wanted to use on a layout, and I knew these papers would be perfect for it! When my daughter was in kindergarten, she was very aware of her environment and there were things she saw that she didn't like.... garbage along the road, pets that needed homes, kids in shelters, people that were hungry... and she wanted to make a difference. She started a club called Kids Give Back. She planned every aspect of the club, right down to the orange t-shirts they wore to each activity they participated in. The bold color stood out, but it also made it difficult to find papers that would work when scrapbooking her photos. The Crackin' Rose line worked perfectly!

I layered several sheets of the Cracklin' Rose line on this layout. I distressed the edges to add a little extra texture.

Quick Quotes has some amazing chipboard embellishments. I added some PowderPuff Chalking Ink in Bloody Mary to the Fall Leaf to coordinate with my layout.

I found these silk leaves in my stash of supplies, and wanted to use them, unfortunately they were way too bright. To tone them down and give them more of a fall look, I added a little PowderPuff Chalking Ink in Mocha Mama.

Memories

Hi! It's Barb and I am excited to share another layout with you today! Now that the kids are back in school, my focus is shifting to all the fall activities our family likes to do. Last year, when we were visiting my family in Indiana, we took an afternoon to pick apples at a local orchard. I was thrilled when I saw the Cracklin' Rose line... it is perfect for all of my fall photos!

The Cracklin' Rose papers coordinate so nicely together and work with all of the fall colors. It makes putting layouts like this together nice and quick!

Here is a close up of one of the new chipboard leaves in the Bag O' Chips - Fall Leaves. I added a little Powder Puff Chalking Ink in Biscotti and Amaretto

The picture of my daughter with her cousin walking down the row of trees hand in hand is one of my favorites! I felt like this quote from the Itty Bitty Box of Quotes (Sentiments) was the perfect journaling to capture the moment. I inked the edges of the vellum with PowderPuff Chalking Inks in Mocha Mama and used brads to adhere them to the tag.
