Quick Quotes - Cabo!

Happy Monday morning everyone! Barb here to host the blog today! I was pretty excited when the new Baggage Claim Line arrived at my house and I was even more excited when I saw the 12 new ink colors! Of course this line is perfect for travel photos so that is exactly what I used it for!

The colors and patterns in this line are perfect for any type of travel photo. I wanted to do a layout with this photo of my husband and I in Cabo a few years ago. I loved that there were so many beautiful colors and subtle patterns. It made layering easy!

This layout was great for trying out all the new ink colors! I used them to color the flowers and crocheted lace! I even used a couple of ink colors on a few!

The Baggage Claim Line has some fabulous Chipboard Die-Cuts that coordinate with it. I used one in the upper right corner of the photo and as well as the tag under the title. I also pulled out the Travel Quick Quote Bundle for the vellum quote.

And did you know that they have 12 BRAND NEW COLORS of Powder Puff Chalking Ink?! Of course I had to tear right into it and start to play!

I have been going through some of my older photos and found some of my daughter when she was just a baby! They were so fun and the new papers were just perfect for them! They may be travel themed but they can be used for so much more!!!

Don't you love these new papers?! The khaki zigzag pattern is one of my favorites from Quick Quotes!

I love the mix of papers and colors in the Baggage Claim Line! The khaki, red and blues look great together! I also pulled out some of Quick Quotes Halloween Papers (black polka dot) and Sea Breeze Paper (solid blue) to layer on this layout.

Khaki is of the new colors of PowderPuff Chalking Inks that Quick Quotes has released!! LOVE this color! It is the ink that I used around the blue and black patterned papers. I am sure I will be using that one a lot!!

Quick Quotes - Big Red Balloon & a Challenge!

Happy Friday Everyone! Barb here today to host the February Challenge! I am a HUGE fan of PowderPuff Chalking Inks! I think I use them on every project I do! And I was pretty excited when I heard rumors that Quick Quotes was releasing some new colors!! Yay!! Well, those rumors inspired this months challenge…. Ink It Up!

We would love to see you use some kind of ink on your card, layout or off the page project! You can stamp with ink, paint with ink, mist with ink… if it involves ink, you can submit it for this month's challenge! Here is my take on the challenge….

I found a series of photos of my little girl playing with a big red balloon. I really liked this photo but was a little sad that the balloon had gotten cut out of the photo… then I had an idea! I created my own balloon!

Here is where you are going to see how I put the PowderPuff Chalking Inks to work! I took a very wet paintbrush that I inked up with Maraschino Cherry PowderPuff Chalking Ink and created a messy painted background for my photo. I used the same technique to color in the hearts with Baja Blue PowderPuff Chalking Ink. I used Coal Miner PowderPuff Chalking Ink to stamp the arrows and I inked all the way around the layout with Midnight Confessions PowderPuff Chalking Ink!

I love the way my balloon turned out! I cut out a heart shape from a sheet of paper from the Be Bold Collection. I also cut a transparency heart the same size and stitched them together. Before I completely stitched my pocket shut, I added some blue heart "confetti" that I made from a heart punch and paper from the Be Bold Collection. I glued down a few of the hearts on the larger red heart to prevent all of the mini blue hearts from falling all the way to the bottom.

I can't wait to see what you create for my Ink it Up Challenge! You could win a prize from Quick Quotes for playing along!

Have a fun, creative weekend!
Barb
