Frosted Designs - Polka Dots!

Happy Friday everyone!! I have some great news to share that is going to put a smile on your face this weekend.... Frosted Designs is having another Blog Hop!! Yep, the one last month was so much fun that we are doing it again!! There are new prizes and new designers on this hop! Save the date!

And... to make your weekend even better, we have a new challenge for you at Frosted Designs! For this challenge, we would like to see you use Polka Dots on your cards, layouts and off the page projects! Here is my layout....
For some reason I always think of girly layouts when I think about Polka Dots but I love that I was able to do a masculine layout for this challenge!!

I had fun embellishing this one between the chipboard, inks, paints, machine sewing and hand sewing... I think I threw just about everything in!! I used Crate Paper patterned papers and some BasicGrey embellishments.

Be sure to stop by the Frosted Designs blog to see all the creative ways our Design Team put polka dots to use!! You won't be disappointed! And did I mention that if you play along, you have a chance to win a Gift Certificate to Oh My Crafts?!!!

Quick Quotes - Enjoy Life's Little Moments

***IF YOU ARE HERE FOR THE CRAFTWORK CARDS BLOG HOP,
PLEASE SCROLL DOWN!!***

Good morning everyone!  Quick Quotes has so many products that I love and today, I decided to combine several of them! Here is a layout I created using the Just Because Paper line....

I got a little messy with this layout! I used gesso, PowderPuff Chalking Inks and Shimmering Mist!

The quote is from the Quick Quotes Bundle Sentiment set. I felt it was perfect since the picture on the layout is 13 years old. I took this picture when I had my older children (now ages 23, 22 & 20) at the Indianapolis Children's Museum. Sometimes I can't believe how fast the time went with them at home.

For the flowers, I painted the patterned paper with gesso, then inked it in Blue Hawaiian, Very Berry, Biscotti and Mocha Mama PowderPuff Chalking Inks. I then stitched the heart in the center and finished it all off with some Shimmering Mist.

The butterflies are from the Butterflies Bag O'Chips. I love these chipboard laser die-cuts. They are thick enough to take painting and inking but are still thin enough to emboss and not add too much weight to a page.

I wanted to show you how easy it is to emboss this chipboard so I made a video for you!

Quick Quotes Products Used:
Patterned Paper: Just Because 200, 400
Chipboard Laser Die-Cut: Butterflies Bag O'Chips

Other Products Used:

Shimmering Mist: Creative Imaginations

Craftwork Cards Blog Hop!

Hello! And welcome to my blog! If you are participating in the Craftwork Cards Blog hop, you should have arrived from Marie's blog. If you are just getting started, be sure to head over to the Craftwork Cards CANDi Blog to get started! You can get there by clicking here!

Craftwork's USA team has teamed up with the Craftwork's UK team to show off their new Wreath Kits! These kits are the best! They come with everything you need to make 2 wreaths! I was given the Bohemian wreath kit to work with....

The kits come with precut flowers and all you have to do is add your own personal touches. I decided to change the look of my wreath a bit and cluster my flowers together on one side. Here is my wreath...

And since there were so many flowers in this kit that I didn't use on my wreath, I decided to do a layout, too!

I thought the flowers were perfect for these sweet photos of my oldest daughter who is now 23! I guess it is about time I do a scrapbook layout with them!! :)

I love that these flowers come in all shapes and sizes. It makes it easy to layer them to create this look.

For my flowers, I inked all the edges with PowderPuff Chalking Inks in Biscotti and Plum Crazy and after I layered them together, I misted them with Shimmering Mist. I finished them off with some pearls in the center! This kit made it so easy!!!

I kept the title soft and subtle because I didn't want that to be the focus of the page. The kit also comes with ribbon which was the perfect embellishment for my photo!

Thank you to Karan at Sketchabilities for a wonderful sketch to work with!

You can find this Wreath Kit (along with all the others) at Scrapbook.com.

Would you like to win a wreath kit? All you have to do is leave a comment on my blog and I will pick a winner at the end of the week! Would you like more chances? Then leave comments on all the blogs, on all the days because each of the Design Team members participating in the Blog Hop have a wreath to give away! As if that isn't enough, Craftworks will also be giving away Wreath Kits on the USA blog as well as the UK blog! That is a lot of chances to win! You can go to the Craftwork Cards CANDi Blog for all the details!

Your next stop is Kath Woods blog! Be sure to stop back this weekend to see if you have won the Wreath Kit on my blog! Happy Hopping!

Happy Father's Day!

Yesterday I showed you a layout I made of my dad. Today I have the card I made for him!

I used some Echo Park Papers on this card. I love the colors.

The buttons on this card are also from the stash my Grandmother saved many years ago!

I love Karan's sketches over at Cardabilities so I used this one for this card! Thanks for the inspiration Karan!!

Craftwork Cards CANDi - My Dad!

Happy Monday morning! Father's Day is just a few days away and it really has me thinking about my dad. I don't mean to brag but I do have THE BEST DAD!! I mean seriously... no one even comes in at a close second!  :)  I found this photo of my Dad and I and couldn't wait to use it on a layout!

My dad is so sweet and so kind! And he is the best fix it up person ever!!! Every time I have a project, he is the first one I call!

I love that CANDi looks like a brad without having to poke holes in my layouts. I have this bad habit of changing my mind and I can easily move these without leaving a hole behind! :) Notice the one on the tag. The buttons are all from a collection I received from my Grandmother. Over the years, she removed them from my dad's (and his siblings) clothing. I think it is cool that I can use them on his projects now!

I also used the Rainforest CANDi in the corner of my journal spot... perfect for a masculine layout!

Here is the Rainforest CANDi I used in my layout....
Have a great week and Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there!

Quick Quotes - Father's Day CD Gift

Father's Day is right around the corner and what you do you get the man that has everything?! Well, how about a CD or a DVD you have created? And...of course you need to present it the right way! I have an idea for you...

My husband is a very difficult person to buy gifts for but this is one gift I know he will love! He has been asking for photos of the family and from vacations that he can have for his computer and iPad. I decided to make him a DVD of some of his favorite photos. This is an ordinary CD case that I altered. I covered the front and back cover with kraft cardstock and embellished it with the Stowaway Paper Line.

I embossed the tag and used Mocha Mama, Blue Hawaiian & Biscotti PowderPuff Chalking Inks to add some color. I also used the Blue Hawaiian PowderPuff Chalking Inks to color the cheesecloth ribbon I tied around the tag.

Here is a close up of the Stowaway Chipboard Die Cut Sticker that I used on the cover. I love these chipboard stickers!

Here is what the inside of the CD case looks like. Instead of photos on the disc, you could make a CD of your Dad's/Husband's favorite songs. Or, you could put together a DVD of some of your favorite memories! There are so many possibilities!

On the right side, I have cut a piece of patterned paper from the Just Jackson line that I am using for my journaling.  I added some lines which will make it easy for me to write a sweet message! It would also be a great place to write a playlist if you did a song CD.

I wanted to show you how simple this project is to do so I have a video for you! It takes you step by step through the process of creating this gift. Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there!

Now, on to the challenge! This week we are asking you to use our sketch but we are adding a twist! You must also add something with wings! You can make a card, layout or off the page project! Here is my layout...

How sweet are these photos of my daughter with my dad?! I love them! Lauren wanted to feed the ducks and geese so bad but was afraid they would bite her... Grandpa was by her side to lend a helping hand!  They shared so many giggles that day!

Here is the sketch I started with. I actually stuck to it pretty closely! Kind of proud of myself!! lol!

I used about 3 different Echo Park lines for the layout and then added in embellishments from Echo Park, BasicGrey, Craftwork Cards CANDi and a few other miscellaneous things I had laying around!

I love the bright, summer colors of this layout!

Thank you to Molossi for sponsoring this challenge!
One lucky winner is going to receive a $30 Chipboard Prize Package!
