Quick Quotes - Beach Mini Album!

Hi! It's Barb and I am so excited that Quick Quotes has teamed up with Want 2 Scrap this week!! I was sent the most adorable Beach Mini Chipboard album to create with along with all kinds of bling!!! I couldn't wait to get started! Since I was given bling in greens and purples, I decided to use the Dusty Road Line from Quick Quotes to make my mini!

I love the color combination in the Dusty Road line. It was perfect for covering the chipboard in this album. The way this album is designed, with each page extending a little further than the one before, you can really see all the beautiful patterns. I covered each of the pages, inked around them with Mocha Mama PowderPuff Chalking Ink and then outlined them with a black pen.

I used the Want 2 Scrap bling on the cover of my mini. The flourish adds a nice amount of sparkle and the bling was perfect for the centers of my flowers! The beautiful stick pin with the purple bow is also from Want 2 Scrap.

I had a few chipboard pieces left over from one of my Club Q kits so I used that along with the sentiment I cut from the 6x6 Dusty Road Paper Pad.

I fussy cut some of the circles from one of the Dusty Road papers and then added some Want 2 Scrap pearls to make the embellishments on this page.

And I finished it all off with some of the sentiments cut from the 6x6 Dusty Road Paper Pad and the Dusty Road chipboard stickers!

Craftwork Cards CANDi - Welcome Home!

Recently, my daughter adopted 2 rabbits, Daisy and Clover. They are darling but my word, way more work than we had anticipated! Anyway, she adores them and they adore her! I had to create a layout about them coming to their new home....

I won these Little Yellow Bicycle Poppy Papers and I was so excited when they arrived! I loved the bright colors and the little rabbit die cuts/stickers were perfect for these photos!!

Funny story... for some reason, I keep thinking Clover's name is Oliver. So much so, I actually put Oliver on the layout first and then had to change it when I caught my mistake!! lol!! He just seems like an Oliver to me!!

I love the mixture of flowers and the CANDi was the perfect embellishment to add to the cluster! I did a little outlining with a black pen on the flowers and banners.

How cute is this rabbit with his bow tie?! It's like he is reaching out to welcome our new friends!

I used the Patchwork CANDi on this layout! I adore the little white flowers printed on them!

They even had the exact title for me on the chipboard die cuts! Perfect!!

The canoe border was the perfect touch for our canoe photos!!

Quick Quotes - July Club Q Kit

Wow! I have to tell you how excited I was when I opened the Quick Quotes July Club Q Kit! It is packed full of so many yummy papers, die cuts, embellishments and even a canvas!! I went right to work on it! However, I must confess, I am not good at following directions so I did my own thing! (Isn't that the best part of this kits after all?!)

I decided to make a canvas that included photos of my husband and I on vacation. The reds, browns and golds looks fabulous together!

I have to say that my favorite part of this kit were these cute die cut polaroid frames! I added some Biscotti PowderPuff Chalking Ink to the edges to give them a bit of an aged look.

These die cut flowers and flourishes also came in the kit. I added some Mocha Mama PowderPuff chalking ink to the edges and added a brad to the center of the flowers. I love the large black brad that came in the kit!

Here is another close up shot of the die cuts in this kit. I added some foam adhesive between the layers of the heart. The Cherish sticker is from the Quick Quotes Cracklin' Rose die cut stickers.

And since I was having so much fun, I kept right on going!

I had another one of the die cut polaroid frames to use so I put a fun, youthful twist on it! This time I used a black, white & red theme.

I used some bubble wrap and Midnight Confessions PowderPuff Chalking Ink to create the polka dot background. I added a few red dots with red paint.

I had several die cuts left over from the canvas and they were perfect for this tween layout! I inked all of the edges with Midnight Confessions PowderPuff Chalking Ink. I also used Red Hot PowderPuff Chalking ink around the entire border of the layout.

I love that I was able to make 2 completely different projects with this kit! And I still have plenty left over more more layouts and cards!

Quick Quotes - Life is about...

I am hosting two blogs today so I decided to use both products on today's layout! The papers and inks are from Quick Quotes and the CANDi is from Craftwork Cards!

Are you ready to have a little fun and get a little messy?! I am going to show you how to create a fun background for your layout.

The papers in the Quick Quotes Just Because line remind me of summer and sunshine so I wanted to give my layout the starburst effect behind the photo.

I used a mask along with Matte Gel and Biscotti PowderPuff Chalking Ink to create the circles. I then used yellow twine to "connect" the circles.

The Just Because Line includes a sheet of quotes and journaling tags. I cut apart one of the quotes, inked the edges and used it on this layout. I replaced a few of the key words with different letter stickers to draw your eye to them.

I used some CANDi to make these fabulous little flowers! I started with a chipboard circle, added some hot glue and then turned the CANDi upside down to create them! I used Patchwork and Rainforest CANDi on this layout!

If you would like to see a step by step tutorial on how to make the background, be sure to watch this video!

Quick Quotes Patterned Papers: Just Because 200, 300, 400, 500

Craftwork Cards CANDi: Rainforest, Patchwork

Twine: American Crafts
Letter Stickers: Simple Stories, Prima

Scraptown Lady Guest Designer!

Hello everyone! I was thrilled when Cheryl asked me to guest design for Scraptown Lady! I was even more excited when my box filled with scrappy goodies arrived! It was filled with the Prima Songbird collection, cardstock, ribbon and Prima flowers! What a yummy mix! The papers were so beautiful, I really had a hard time cutting into them! But once I did, the ideas were flowing! Look at what I created...

I thought these papers were perfect for these photos of my baby girl (Who really is not a baby anymore, she's 11!) I printed the photos with an antique filter.

The Prima Songbird papers are perfect for fussy cutting! The envelope and ticket were cut from one of the patterned papers. I used ink around the edges of the papers to give it a distressed, aged appearance.

The title, Lauren, was made from little tickets that I fussy cut and placed on a journal spot. I also cut the "beautiful" banner and adhered it using foam adhesive to give it a little dimension. I topped it off with some of that yummy ribbon that came in my package!

I added a little piece of cheesecloth behind this pretty Prima flower to add some texture.

When I finished the first layout, I had so much paper left, I just kept on going!!!

I loved that the Prima Songbird papers had some youthful components that were perfect for this tween layout! (Yes, this is my daughter that was the little baby in the first layout!)

I fussy cut the journal spot and brackets... they were perfect for showcasing the title. C for Cait and L for Lauren... the two girls should have been born twins, they are so much alike!!

I punched out these peach flower shapes and cut out the circle designs from one of the patterned papers for the centers. I also added some black detailing with a pen.

My favorite part from the Prima Songbird papers were these fun Polaroid type frames! I put a fun filter on these photos before printing them.

And finally, my card....

I can honestly say, this card was made with scraps! I looked over my desk and found some of the scraps that were big enough to work with and this is what I created!

I love the birds on the banner! I fussy cut the circle and adhered it to a tag. I also inked all of the edges of the papers with some Prima ink to make them look a bit distressed.

I want to thank Cheryl for inviting me to be a guest designer here at Scraptown Lady and trusting me with the gorgeous supplies! I really had a great time creating these projects! If you would like to see more of my work, you can visit me on my blog Crafty Creations!

Have a great week!

Frosted Designs - Ribbon, Twine & Washi Tape!

So, did all of my US friends celebrate the holiday yesterday?! Hopefully you took some time with your family and friends! We are back with a new challenge for you at Frosted Designs! This week we are challenging you to use Ribbon, Twine & Washi Tape on your card, layout or off the page project! Don't worry, we don't expect you to use all three, but we do want to see 2!!! It is really quite easy! The Design Team has some spectacular projects they are going to be sharing with you over the next 4 days so be sure to stop by the Frosted Designs Blog to check them out! Here is my layout...

My daughter recently finished her 5th grade year and to celebrate, her class had a party and they set up a photo booth for the kids!! They had so much fun being silly!  And the Poppy Papers I recently won from Little Yellow Bicycle were the perfect colors! If you look in the upper right corner, I used washi tape!

I used ribbon for the banner. I love the canvas stickers that are part of this collection!

I cut some circles out of my background paper and then mounted patterned paper behind. I then used twine to make more circles on top! I love the way this turned out!

Now it is your turn!! And I know I say this every week, but you are REALLY going to want to play along this week!!!! Our prize is amazing.... you could win a class with Donna Downey! That is a $65 value!! But you can't win if you don't play along!!! I can't wait to see what you create!! Good luck!

Barb :)
