Quick Quotes - The Craft Girls….

Hello Everyone! Barb here to host the blog today! I know I should probably be creating winter layouts but I have to be honest, when it is 70+ degrees out everyday, I just can't bring myself to bust out the snowflakes!! I guess that is what happens when you live in the desert! So, instead of snowflakes, I brought out one of my favorite collections…. Just Because!

I love everything about this line… the colors, the patterns, the way it can be used for any type of photo! This photo happens to be from DisneyWorld. And I have to say… it is always an adventure with my girls!

The sun ray type paper is one of my favorites. I love that the colors are bright without being overwhelming. I added some hand stitching to create a border and added some brads for interest.

One of my favorite things I have been doing with the PowderPuff Chalking ink is painting with it. I added some Viva Gold shimmer to the chipboard arrows and then painted on the Blue Hawaiian PowderPuff Chalking Ink by using a wet paint brush! I used Java PowderPuff chalking ink on the edges of all the patterned papers.

I hope you are seeing lots of sunshine wherever you are!

Quick Quotes - My Girls!

Hello everyone! I have been busy sorting and organizing my scrapbooking supplies which required me to pull out all of my Quick Quotes papers. When I had them all spread out on the floor, I decided that I wanted to combine a few of my favorite lines! And this is what I created…

How fun is this one?! My favorite lines from Quick Quotes are Happiness and Just Because. The colors are so bright and fun and were perfect for this fun layout of my daughters at Disney World!

The blue arrows in the corner are from the Be Bold Chipboard Sticker pack. I used a black pen to outline them. The red dots and blue splatters are from Quick Quotes PowderPuff chalking ink… I will show you how I did it in a minute!  :)

I used a star punch to punch out the multi colored stars from one of the Happiness papers. I love the color blocking look on them! I layered various patterned papers from both lines behind the photo and used those same papers for the shooting stars. I added some stickles for a little glitter!

I had fun making the background for this layout. Would you like to know how I did it?

I used a pretty large paint brush that would hold a lot of water. I got the brush really wet with water and then pushed it around the ink a few times picking up the ink color in the brush.

Next, I went for a really old technique and just flicked the paint brush as the paper. But I must warn you, put up any electronics that might be sitting close by… they will get speckled! :)

For the larger red dots I did the same thing with the wet paint brush but this time I used a smaller brush. It gave me a little more control of the ink. I found it helpful to use a stencil to keep my circles the same size.

Once you have your paintbrush full of water, add some ink to the brush and "paint" the circles on. You can control how intense your color is by using more or less water. The less water you use, the more intense the color.

I was adding a lot of black pen doodling on this layout so I drew messy circles around each of the red circles. (This works best when your paper is dry!)

To make the smaller circles, I used a brand new, never before used pencil eraser! I inked up the eraser in the same spot I had added the water to the ink pad earlier and then used it like a stamp.

I love PowderPuff Chalking Inks and I really love when I find new ways to use them!

Frosted Designs - Silly x3!

Happy Wednesday everyone! Barb here to share a few layouts I made with you! When I saw the Studio Calico Printshop Line, I knew we needed to sell it in the store! This line is awesome! The papers are so versatile that you can use them for almost any occasion! And with the mix of patterns, you can change up the styles between layouts. I completed two layouts with the same paper pad but you would never know it!

I love the fun, playful tone of this Silly x3 layout! I cut several of the patterned papers and then outlined them with a black pen. I also added some playful doodles!

How cute is that little camera? That came from the coordinating vellum die-cuts! So did the arrows ! I love them!! The striped Silly title at the bottom is from the Scripty Words Pack. I used Dylusions spray ink in Calypso Teal to add color to it!

Before I adhered the Silly title to the bottom of the page, I traced it two times with a black pen. I then used Gelatos to color the words in giving it an ombre look down the side of the layout!

Here is the second layout I made! All of my kids know that their Grandpa is the man so sit by at night when watching TV! His favorite snack is Popcorn and Apples and there have been a lot of great memories made by sharing snacks with Grandpa! These papers are from the same Printshop Paper Pad!

The Chipboard Letters came from the Frosted Designs Sea Breeze Scrapbooking Kit. The & sign is from the coordinating Printshop vellum Die-Cuts. Do you see the brown stripe on the paper above the banner?! I painted that on using our brand new Lindy's Stamp Gang Inks!

This was my first time working with Lindy's Products and I have to say….. I LOVE THEM!!! The colors are so amazing and I like that I can control the size of the "drips" by the way I spray! I also used the Magical Powder with a stencil to create the blue circles. (you can kind of see one peeking out from under the banner.) I will certainly be adding a few more colors to my collection very soon!! :)

I hope you have some creative time for yourself today!

Barb :)

Frosted Designs - Love this Girl!

I guess I have been a little distracted… I totally forgot to post this on Friday!

We are excited to be partnering with Stuck?!Sketches for this week's Friday Challenge! You have provided the sketch, and we have provided the challenge! We want to see you use ink, mist or paint on your project while using the sketch they provided! How fun is that?!

Here is my layout…

 And here is the sketch….
I love that this sketch allows you to use multiple photos if you wish to. I rotated it 90 degrees for my layout.

I used white paint to create a background for my title. As much as I love the polka dots, the title was getting lost in them. I also painted the chipboard word Love.

I used some paint and mists to add some splatters to the layout too!

I would love to see you play along with us! And we are giving you plenty of time! This challenge is going to run until Jan. 29th! Check out the details HERE!

Have you had a chance to check out the "Love is in the Air" Kit?

You can win it for playing along!!
