Gone apple pickin'!!

Every year (until I moved this year) my sister and I would take our kids to a local apple orchard to take pictures ummm I mean pick apples!! Actually, we were pretty bad!! We were like papparazzi in the orchard!! There were certain pictures we always wanted to make sure we got and this is one of them...
We love the picture of the kids walking hand in hand down the row of trees! Isn't this so sweet?! I guess it is a good thing we got these pictures while we had the chance!!

This LO was made for Sketches in Thyme this week. The sketch is another one by Helen Croft... don't you just love her sketches?! They are so easy to work with!! Here is another view of my journaling (I really am trying to do more of this, but it is hard since I hate my handwriting!!)

We would love to see what you do with this sketch! Be sure to link up your layout at Sketches in Thyme for a chance to win this months prize! Most of the papers and embellishments on this LO came from my Lucky Girl September kit! It arrived right as I was moving into my new house and this was the first chance I had to open it up!! So much scrappy goodness inside!!   This LO also qualifies for the Sisterhood challenge which is asking for 3 or more flowers so I will enter it there as well!!

So...now if you will humor me.... I would like to brag about my daughter a bit!! I know you have heard me mention the club she started when she was six called "Kids Give Back"!   Well, one day I opened a Disney email that said they were holding a contest to see who was the "Fairest Princess of Them All!!!" I decided to take a photo of Lauren in front of her 7 ft. castle my dad had built for her room and then wrote and essay that talked about the things she had already done for our community. Well... guess what?!! She won the prize!! The grand prize was hotel and airfare for 4 to Disney World with a day at the bibbidy bobiddy boutique (where she will get a full princess make over including a new gown and shoes!), breakfast with the princesses, 5 days of park hopper tickets, VIP seating at the fireworks or parade and so much more!! Click HERE if you would like to see her winning photo! If you click on the smaller photo in the bottom left corner, you will be able to read the winning essay!! Needless to say, she can't wait to go!! We leave Saturday morning and will be gone a week! So... when I can't stop by and visit all of your blogs, I am sure you will understand!!

Remember that Frosted Designs is having a Design Team call and we are also giving away some candy to some faithful followers!! Stop by and check it out!!

Thanks for stopping by today!!  Barb  :)

How wonderful is this-I'm so glad for your daughter and family I'm sure you will have a blast- and don't forget to take all those amazing pictures while you're there. And I love the apple orchard photo-wish I would of thought of that when my kids were younger. Maybe next time I get them all together I will make them hold hands...lol Have a great time at Disney World.

P.S Love the photo in this weeks layout too, there is something special about seeing children holding hands and watching them interact from a distance.

Okay this is gonna be a long comment :)

How flippin' fabulous is that!! I would be bragging to. I had to go and look at her photo and the 7ft castle. You daughter is an amazing little girl. To have such a big heart at such an early age only means she will grow up to be one amazing woman! She defintely deserved to win and I hope you all enjoy the prize!! Those pics in itself will be super special to scrap.

Your layout is just out of this world. The way the center photo looks with the brown and the frame makes it look like it is a shadowbox. This layout is filled with inspiration and AWE for me!

I haven't been playing along with any challenges lately but once I do I hope to hop back into Frosted Designs & Sketches in Thyme..2 of my fav blogs!!

I laughed out load when I was reading the first paragraph of your post. I am also guilty of going to certain places JUST to take pictures and not actually doing what "normal" people went there for. HAHA!... I'm glad i'm not alone!
Well, your "paparazzi" shot was definitely worth it, because that photo came out fabulous! Super cute! And the layout looks beautiful with those colors.
Big congrats to your daughter too. That is so amazing that she won!! Yay! Good for her! :)
